Throughout San Pasqual’s football season this year, one name on the team that has seemed to stand out is Danny Davis. Our star quarterback shares some fun facts about himself and some experiences from his final year.

San Pasqual Varsity Football currently has a record of 5-4, and Davis is confident that the team will outshine the rest of their opponents this season. He believes that the team has the potential to go all the way, and shares what his main goal is for this season.

“For everybody on the team I’d say it is to win it all, and I think we have the capability of doing that…it’s just doing our job all four quarters,” states Davis. “If we can do that, I don’t think anyone is stopping us.”

Davis shares his favorite part about the game and what brings him the most joy, saying that just the overall atmosphere excites him.

“The Friday night lights, the stadium, the crowd. It’s just exciting,” Davis shares.

Davis also comments that the team as a whole has struggled with staying focused. “We’re a fun bunch, we can get a bit squirrely sometimes,” states Davis.

Davis explains how he holds the team accountable and how he’s able to block out the noise and stay focused on the next game.

“We’re football guys,” Danny Davis said. “We hear the talk…I try telling everyone to just lock in on what we can control.”

Davis also explains how much of an impact his mother has been on improving his mental strength and keeping him sharp for tough games.

“She has always been my number one fan, my biggest supporter, and my best motivator. She has always been able to put me in the right mindset…” Davis explains.

During the off-season, Davis was not only working on his mental strength but also on his physical strength. He knew he had to get stronger and faster to be able to keep up with the competition.

“During the spring season I was not the biggest guy, and I knew during the senior season there would be a lot more competition… I knew I had to get bigger, run faster, and just get stronger as a whole,” Davis concludes.

We are now in the final stretch of the season, and the competition is only going to get tougher.
