SPHS offers a vast variety of clubs that specialize in all sorts of hobbies and interests. Whether that be Music, Writing, or Sports, there is a club for you!

Does the topic of video games pique your interest? Do you want to meet people who share your interest in gaming? Then look no further than the SOAR Gaming Club!

We spoke with Justice Moore, the president of the gaming club for more insight.

Tran: Why should you join the gaming club?

Moore: “You should join the gaming club because it brings an entirely new world full of creativity, fun, hype, and character building experiences right to San Pasqual. Joining the club allows students to formally introduce themselves to this world and share the experience with their peers on a broader scale through volunteering at our club coordinated school wide events. So if any of these things are right up your alley, and if you want to support our long-term goal of creating an Esports team, look no further than the Soar Gaming Club!”

Tran: What can one expect when they join?

Moore: “Upon joining, expect a welcoming environment full of members of all varying skill levels (so don’t feel intimidated, we’re all just having fun anyways), and at any meeting you are able to bring in any consoles or games that you would like to share with fellow members. Depending on the meeting, before or after we start up with the games, I’ll give everyone a short briefing on upcoming events that we are hosting, games we want to bring in, progress on expanding the club, or start a brainstorm session about building our Esports team. We haven’t established one yet, but being part of the gaming club feels like being part of an unofficial team in of itself, and that’s the most enjoyable part.”
