New Teacher on Campus

On January 9, 2019, the first day back from winter break, there was a new teacher in San Pasqual High School.  The teacher’s name is Mr. Santiago. He teaches health. Santiago is located in room 316 at San Pasqual campus.

“I came from an elementary school as a PE teacher,” Santiago said.

He enjoys the feeling at San Pasqual and enjoys teaching his students and says that the students he has are amazing.

“I really like it here; it feels as though staff and students are amazing,” Santiago said. “It’s different because I’m now in a traditional classroom and get to spend more time indoors,” Santiago pointed out. As a former PE teacher, he spent a lot of time outdoors.

The transition wasn’t really difficult for him because he was already with students.

“My previous job was at Lemon Grove Academy,” Santiago said. “(But) I was already working here; I have been the basketball coach at San Pasqual for 3 years, but I didn’t expect to be a health teacher,” Santiago said.

He has been working as teacher for 14 years and teaches all grade levels, including “kinder through 12th grade,” according to Santiago.

Santiago says he hopes to stay at San Pasqual for a long time and teach and be the basketball coach at the same time.
