Foreign Exchange Students Come to San Pasqual

This September, San Pasqual High School welcomed special guests from foreign countries. Coming from countries as far as China to Switzerland, foreign exchange students had the opportunity to experience school on campus for 2 weeks.

The Opportunities Job Shadow Day Offers

On October 17, 2019, San Pasqual High School offered its annual “Job Shadow Day” Program to allow students to experience a profession for the first time. The Escondido Education COMPACT works with the Escondido Union High School District every year to provide local high school students with hands-on real-world experience. Students have the opportunity to shadow someone who works in their selected career field for one day. With over 30 companies taking part each year, they secure placements in a wide range of career fields.

ASB Strives to Make Homecoming Happen

Homecoming is one of the major dances put on each year at San Pasqual High School, but many students are unaware of what goes on behind the scenes. The dance is successfully put on every year under the watchful eye and handiwork of ASB. "ASB is really fun, (as) I like planning; I like working to put things together. It’s amazing (and) it gives me something to do,” senior Candy Preciado said.

Jessica Kamman, a senior on San Pasqual High School's robotics team, is currently in her last season on the team. After four years on the SuperNurds, Jessica Kamman has put in an extraordinary amount of effort and countless hours, earning her the titles of team president, software lead, and technician, as well as earning her the prestigious FIRST Dean’s List Finalist award, named after the co-founder of FIRST Robotics.

New Teacher on Campus

On January 9, 2019, the first day back from winter break; starting second semester, there was a new teacher in San Pasqual High School.  The teacher's name is Mr. Santiago. He teaches health. Santiago is located in room 316 at San Pasqual campus.“I came from  an elementary school as a PE teacher,” Santiago said. “I really like it here; it feels as though staff and students are amazing,” Santiago said.

Serving the community is a very important part of our society, and the Interact Club of San Pasqual focuses on giving students the chance to help the community through community service. The Interact Club is exactly what its title says; interactive. This club lets members that are involved in the club to interact with the the community, making changes in the society in positive ways. The club has a variety of people in it - freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors - usually meeting on Tuesdays in room 405.
